WristVoice AI - Privacy Policy
This privacy notice explains how WristVoice AI handles information when you use the app on your Garmin device.
1. Who is responsible
WristVoice AI is operated by Robert Szabo trading as Vainqueur Studio. For privacy questions or to exercise your data protection rights, email contact@vainqueur.co.uk.
2. What WristVoice AI processes
Routine app requests use app-specific identifiers for access and usage accounting. The app does not ask for your name, email address or payment card details to answer a request. Device and subscription IDs can still be personal data if they can be linked to an individual. Your recording or question can also contain personal information you choose to share.
- Your recorded voice is sent for transcription. The recognised question and the context needed to answer it are sent to generate a reply.
- Your selected conversation language is sent for transcription and replies.
- If you enable optional context sharing, requests can include GPS location, altitude, date and time, or preferences such as units. You can turn optional sharing off in the app settings.
- Requests include service authentication, app-specific identifiers, request IDs, app version information and context mode as needed to operate the service.
WristVoice AI does not collect your activity history or health profile as an AI input. Only record other people when you have appropriate permission.
3. What stays on your watch
The app temporarily holds your recording, transcript, question and answer while completing a request or offering a retry. It does not create a saved recording archive.
- Context Off. The current exchange is displayed without saving it as conversation history.
- Local context. The watch keeps a limited history of up to ten exchanges, subject to storage limits. Relevant text from that history can be sent with your next question.
- Server context. The watch can keep a limited reader history and use an association with a conversation stored by OpenAI.
Preferences, usage counters and the service credential can remain on the watch separately from conversation history.
4. Our relay, logs and backups
Our relay is hosted on AWS in Ireland. It processes recordings, transcripts and answers in memory to complete requests. It does not deliberately save that content to its database, files or application logs.
Vainqueur Studio keeps operational logs and reports for 90 days. They can contain app-specific device, request and subscription IDs, request timestamps and outcomes, and usage information. We use this information to operate and secure the service, troubleshoot problems and enforce usage allowances.
Access, subscription, allowance and conversation records are separate from operational logs and reports. Some of these records can remain until removed by Vainqueur Studio.
Production database backups are held in Ireland and support point-in-time recovery for up to 35 days. The separate relay software backup is held in London for 30 days. The 90-day retention period above applies to operational logs and reports.
5. OpenAI processing and Server context
OpenAI processes audio for transcription and text for replies. OpenAI’s handling and retention depend on the API feature used and its configuration. See OpenAI’s API data controls.
Server context stores questions and answers in an OpenAI conversation so recent exchanges can inform later replies. Reset conversation clears the local history and disconnects the old conversation from future use. Deleting the stored OpenAI conversation requires a separate request to Vainqueur Studio. Turning off context, uninstalling the app or cancelling your subscription does not automatically delete provider records.
6. WearCheckout and Polar
WearCheckout supports checkout integration and licence checks. The integration sends an app-specific Garmin device identifier and device or version information to check access. Our service may associate subscription or customer IDs with access records.
For purchases through Polar Checkout, Polar Software, Inc. is the seller and merchant of record. Polar handles the information you enter at checkout. Your payment card details are handled through the checkout and are not sent to the watch or our relay.
See the WearCheckout Privacy Policy and the Polar Privacy Policy for their respective data handling.
7. Why we use information and who receives it
We use information to answer your requests, verify access, manage subscriptions and allowances, secure the service, resolve technical problems and comply with applicable legal obligations. Optional location sharing is controlled through your app settings. Turning it off stops future optional location sharing.
Information may be handled by authorised Vainqueur Studio personnel, AWS, OpenAI, WearCheckout and Polar for the purposes described above. Hosting our relay in Ireland does not mean that all processing or storage takes place in Ireland. AWS and OpenAI handle information under their applicable service terms and configurations. See AWS data privacy information and OpenAI’s API data controls. Contact us for information about international processing and applicable safeguards.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To make a request, including a request about a stored Server conversation, email contact@vainqueur.co.uk. We may ask for enough information to identify the relevant installation or subscription and verify your request. Keep passwords, API keys and payment card details private.
You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the data protection authority where you live.
